WHAT 'CHA BEEN UP TO? #2

OK, this is Sherry...I’m working and Jay’s on vacation. We spent some time at the MOOSE yesterday, Jay did a little tweaking on his work and I decided to let you into the “Inner Sanctum”.

There turned out to be a Lucky 13 videos showing all aspects of Jay’s daily existence at the station. I hope you will enjoy the pictures and I know many of you will see people you know, maybe even yourself, or perhaps a contribution you have made to the museum.

WHAT 'CHA BEEN UP TO? #1

VACATION, PART 2, 2025
Actually, the week before was pretty good, too.
Took Barney into Kindness Veterinary Clinic for his thousand-mile checkup. Topped off his oil, got his shots, and he’s good for another year.
We went to the Thorp FFA Dairy Breakfast. We got our chow and were looking for a place to sit. Squeezed past this friendly looking guy, then realized he was our longtime MOOSE friend, Julian Symbal. Hadn’t seen or heard of him for years. Great reunion.
Later in the week, we went to Elmwood to have lunch with our oldest MOOSE friend, the Early Guy (Mike Raleigh). On the way, we ran into and through a downpour of rain on I-94, that came in Biblical proportions. Scary!
Later, we took Barney to the Dunn County Humane Society for a bath (part of the membership benefits.) On the drive over, ran into another incredible downpour, again, on the Super Slab, I-94. So heavy, we could barely make out the vehicles around us.
The official start of Vacation, Part 2, brought with it plenty of nap time.
Sherry worked on her plants and flowers, and let Jay repot some plants (under CLOSE scrutiny).
We finally got up to the farm to spend the day with Jason and Moose (his dog). Jason had fostered Moose after his longtime best friend, Chance, passed away. Took Moose to a vet, where an incident with an overly-exuberant Vet Tech left a choice...put him down or adopt him. So, Moose has his forever home with Jason. Moose and Barney are great friends. We love to see them together. Moose is suitably named, and Barney has to run like crazy to keep up.
Jay spent three or four hours on the lawn tractor, manicuring the acreage, with a totally blank mind. Great therapy. We had lunch together at the farm, then headed home. Looking South, Sherry said, “Looks as though it might just rain.” A few minutes later, we ran into and through our third cloudburst within a week, this time on US Highway 53. Pulled off the road at Bloomer, just as it passed over us. Made it back home in time to get the garbage cans in and, of course, take a nap.
