Saturday, and our simple plan was a great farmhouse breakfast at the Apple Barn, then a
day of flea marketing and antique barns, of which there are plenty in and around Sevierville.
The local Breakfast included: Country Ham with Redeye gravy for Jay and Pork Loin for
Sherry with 2 eggs and all the fixin's, including, served "family style", home fried potatoes,
sawmill gravy, grits, fried apples, apple fritters with apple butter, and fresh apple juice.
You wouldn't believe the traffic...wall to wall, corner to corner, traffic light to traffic light.  We
made it to the first flea market, along with a few hundred other folks, where we met Agnes,
the bird house lady...dozens of delightful hand-crafted birdhouses, one of which is coming
back to Wisconsin. However...was it not the great Scots poet Robert Burns who wrote, "The
best laid plans of mice and men aft gang awry?"  As we got back to the car, ready to leave
the flea market, we discovered a tire emergency.
So, it was off to Wally World's tire department, where Mr. Hase looked over the goods,
and Evan took care of us.  Evan's a good ole boy from right around here, a veteran who
served our country and met his wife while on duty in Alaska.  She's a Yankee girl from
Indiana, who's gifted Evan with a couple of great kids.  We guess it's some kind of
prisoner exchange thing...Sherry captured the Rebel up North, and Evan brought the
Yankee down South.  By the way, Evan's a classic country kind of guy, and he's one of
us.  After all this, we headed back to Hidden Mountain for R & R, and a bit of NASCAR.
