Then onto the "luxury motor coach", aka "bus", with our great friend Betty Lee and her daughter,
Kristine, to go to the Crystal Grand Theater in the Dells to see Betty's friends, Mel Tillis and The
Statesiders. Mel's nearly 78, and he's still got it. And The Statesiders are still one of the very best
country bands around today. What a day! Betty got Mel to introduce Jay from the audience. Later,
he said, "I knew I should worn a clean shirt today."
Saturday, after breakfast with
the gang, we headed to the
American Legion in Wilson for
Richard King's birthday. The
great treat in that was getting
to hear Betty Lee sing "Foggy
River", live and in person.
