GETTING TOGETHER
FOR BREAKFAST
BACK
SHERRY, JAY, DIANA, DALLAS, DONNA, AND DICK
THE FIRST SATURDAY
OF THE NEW YEAR
FOUND US HEADED FOR
THE USUAL PLACE,
CHIPPEWA FAMILY
RESTAURANT.
NATURE GAVE US THE
"SUNS-UP" FROM THE
HIGHWAY 178 BRIDGE.
THE RESTAURANT STILL
A LITTLE OF IT'S
CHRISTMAS CHEER IN
PLACE, BEST OF ALL
"OUR GANG" OF
FRIENDS WERE
TOGETHER AGAIN,
INCLUDING DICK'S NEW
LIVER. DIANA WAS THE
FIRST TO GET THE FIRE
TRUCK FOR SAYING
SOMETHING
OUTSTANDINGLY WITTY
(DON'T WORRY DALLAS,
THERE'S ALWAY NEXT
YEAR).
RETIRED
GEEZER.
WANTED
The "Fire Truck" is a travelling trophy that
travels around the breakfast table when
someone says something outstanding. When
the ladder is up, it was something REALLY
GOOD.
WINTER ON THE RIVER FROM THE BRIDGE ON 178
THE FIRST SATURDAY OF THE NEW YEAR.
JESSE
The resident Christmas
elf of Chippewa Family
Restaurant.
Thanks Jesse, for brightening
our lives, all through the year.
ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY MORNING, A CLEAR, COLD 2ND WEEK IN JANUARY.
NOT NEARLY AS COLD AS KAREN RUBENZER'S FAMILY. ALL DRESSED IN BLACK,
CELEBRATING HER JOURNEY "OVER THE HILL." THEY ALL GATHERED AT THE CHIPPEWA
FAMILY RESTAURANT FOR THE OBSERVANCE. HAPPY 50TH 1/11/10!
WHAT A GREAT FAMILY!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
JANUARY 20th
Jesse, our friend and
favorite Server at
Chippewa Family
Restaurant passed the
mid-point of his third
decade, so...We had to
celebrate. Dick and
Donna brought a
beautiful cake...And it
ate good, too.
This Saturday started out like most Saturdays do...breakfast
was calling at the Chippewa Family Restaurant.
They've decorated the restaurant up for  Halloween which
help to set the mood for our usual deep discussions on
world affairs. Like: Are toilet paper rolls getting narrower?
Below you see our usual Gang. Left to right, Jay & Sherry
Moore, Diana (Scrubbie maker extraordinaire, see her on Oct.
24th at the Elk Mound craft show) & Dallas Stenner (Inventor
in residence, see the Betty Lee model snow shovel and
Norwegian Briefcase on the Home Page), Donna (proprietor
of the Egg Palace Antique Store, conveniently hidden just off
of Business 53, just North of the Tank Farm in Chippewa
Falls) & Dick Berweger (he does everything not previously
mentioned here). Keeping watch over this crazy flock is
Jesse, who deciphers and delivers our requests to the
kitchen staff, helps to make the fare esthetically pleasing, and
bravely delivers the bounty to the hungry masses. He would
be a "shoe-in" for best all-around employee of any
establishment.
These are the ruffians who always occupy the
table next to us on Saturday mornings. They sure
do get loud sometimes. If we didn't get our food at
different times, we would scarcely be able to hear
each other over the laughter.
We start our Sunday mornings at the
Chippewa Family Restaurant with
our friends Dick and Donna
Berweger. Our usual source of
weather, is the family that sits at the
table next to us each week. The little
guy in the corner is possibly the
happiest child we've ever seen. And
he has the neatest toys!
There are new friends everywhere,
just say hi to someone you don't
know and see how quickly they
become a friend. Share an empty
space in a crowded restaurant and
see how quickly the conversation
begins.
SUNDAY MORNING SMILES
October 25, 2009
Sunday
breakfast at
Menomonie
Family
Restaurant with
Betty Lee and
Duke.
Good food, lots
of good
conversation...
It doesn't get
any better than
this.
We also made some new friends that morning...
John and Jackie Dotseth were there and told us about an event
they put on each Thanksgiving Day.
2009 was the 8th year that their "Olde Towne" served
Thanksgiving Dinner. The "Olde Towne" staff and community
volunteers served a full Turkey Dinner that profited the Dunn
County Interfaith Pantry and their related community services.
Be sure to keep this in mind for next Thanksgiving Day. Call
715-235-5435 or stop by 903 Cedar Falls Road, Menomonie.
GOOD MORNINGS AT THE
CHIPPEWA FAMILY RESTAURANT
You never know who you are going
to see at the Chippewa Family
Restaurant Saturday mornings.
The Chi-Hi/McDonell Men's
Swim Team dropped by for a
"Power Breakfast" before the big
meet. They prove there is strength
in being
different...together.
Yes, you never know
who or WHAT will
show up at the CFR...
One of our friends at
the next table went all
the way to India, just
to get this neat hat.
Better keep it handy,
Derby Day is coming
up the first weekend in
May.
An additional fire
truck made it's debut,
thanks to Jesse. The
table trophy travels
among the friends for
especially witty or
shocking statements.
Our motto is, "Keep a
smile on your face
and your ladder up!"
We now have the
ability to have split
decisions.
"Mine's bigger than yours." OK, who's got the
bigger ladder?  insert your own joke here.
It was our friend John's birthday
on Monday, so we surprised
him Sunday morning.
The staff decorated the place,
got a great cake, and got all of
us there a bit early.  Despite
the plethora of candles, the
smoke alarms were not set off.
John's the boss at Chippewa
Family Restaurant, and the
staff and patrons alike think
he's great!
He blew them all out...barely. Next year could be a real challenge.
Saturday breakfast at Chippewa
Family Restaurant: a surprise and
welcome visit from Tootall and Pat.
The lovely and talented curmudgeon,
himself, Larry Heagle, demonstrating
why Irishmen of a certain age are not
allowed in public unescorted.
Diana: "At least I don't have to
share my breakfast with Dallas."
Jay: "Dessert?"
Sherry: "Somebody bring a bucket of cold water,
PLEASE!"
Dick: "How's this for a generous tip?"
Crystal: "I'm never gonna wash this cheek."
Donna: "Sherry, I need that bucket, when you're through
with it."
