THE MICHAEL (MIC) ST. AUBIN BENEFIT
Sunday, October 4th found us in Cadott at Rick's Half Way Bar. What an
excellent benefit. Lots of prizes and great food.
Mic is undergoing treatment for a brain cancer. We were happy to see
Mic at the benefit.
Mic was on hand to feel the warmth of
the generosity of his family and friends.
delicious charcoal chicken dinner, and

PETE & SHERRI SPEERSTRA FAMILY BENEFIT
We stopped by Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi for
the Speerstra Family Benefit and lunch. Pete has had some
bad luck in the last few years...an accident with a trenching
machine and now to top it off, he's battling cancer. His
friends and family saw a need and pulled this benefit
together. There was a delicious lunch, many donated items
to be auctioned off, and table after table of delicious baked
goods. If you look really close at the picture below you can
see the loaf of Cherry-Banana Bread that came home with
us. That picture and the memory of how good it tasted is all
that remains. Sherry thinks she hid some of the lefse.

Best wishes for a brighter future to
the Speerstra Family.
To the left are Kay and Randy (aka
Stubby) Rustad with Grandson Cody.
Special thanks to them for letting us
know about the Benefit and for buying
us lunch!  Yes, Stubby actually bought!
Below are just a few of the people who
were on hand to help keep things
running smoothly.
Mondovi's Princesses were almost as
sweet as the Ice Cream Sundaes they
were making.
THE NOAH
Our final stop on
Saturday was at The
Noah, a special Golf
Outing that is held
each year in honor of
Noah Lamb who
succumbed to CMV a
year ago in August.
All proceeds of this
years outing were
donated to the local
Special Olympics in
Noah's name.
The morning was gray and cold. But, the
afternoon proved to be a beautiful fall day at
the Glen Hills Golf Course. We cruised the
course in a golf cart, admiring the golfer's
ability to keep their balls on the green part.
Every one seemed to be having a good time.
When it was time for the auction, Jay asked
Andy Lamb if they had lined up an auctioneer.
Andy just said "Yes." Seems Jay was talking
to the auctioneer himself. Andy stepped up to
the microphone and started barking out an
auctioneer's chant that any professional
would have been proud of. He sold everything
from Packer memorabilia to Ben Lamb's EC
Blugold helmet, all at premium prices!
Next up, Jay the raffle number reader. With the
help of some Cuties, the prizes were all given
away.
A big Thank You to Andy and the whole Lamb
family for asking us to be a part of this special
event. See you next year.

Happy 90th Birthday to Grandma Lamb.
There were smiles all around when Andy
announced that over $7000 had been raised at
"The Noah" for the area chapter of the Special
Olympics. Here are Alison and Papa Andy
Lamb with Jay.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17
GLENWOOD CITY, WISCONSIN
Sunday morning: breakfast with the FFA and
FFA Alumni at the Moose Lodge in Chippewa.
Nope, no radio station inside.
Jay with our long-tme friend, Greg Raymond of Chippewa Farm Repair,
and some of the silent auction items for the FFA fund-raiser.
Packing away the pancakes and other goodies.  A great turnout and lots
of great eats.
Radio station?  No, I have too much
self-respect to work at a radio station.
Jay said, "You gotta get in line ahead of
Mike O'Donnell."  We met Mike and Beth on
our way out.  That was a close one!
Too many cooks in the kitchen...no, just enough...didn't
spoil the batter.  Pancakes, sausage, eggs, rolls, pudding,
WOW!
Saturday morning: the light at
the end of the tunnel is the end
of the car wash.  On the way to
breakfast with the gang.
Then on to the Tyler Hanson benefit at American Legion Post 330 at Wilson.
Thanks for inviting us, Troy, and thanks to everybody who made us feel so
welcome.  Kinda old home week for Jay.  Another fine town he got run out of.
First things first: we got to meet the guest of honor, Tyler Hanson, and his family.  Look at
all the stuff going on: a bake sale, plenty of eats, great live music, door prizes, and more.
Get your tickets here!
Only a buck apiece (or
ten for five). What a
deal!
One of dozens and dozens of
door prizes: a genuine Jay
Moore in the Morning Thought
Repellent Hat!
Look, Ma.  I'm street legal.
Got my own auction number.
Lots of old friends to see.  Wimp Rice
(above), and, as they say in Wilson, "You
can't swing a dead cat without hitting one
of the Faber boys...Dave still trying to
collect on that "postage due" from 1991.
Ran into David and Cindy
Thibado.  David is a frequent
contributor to the show.
Plenty of activity inside, and outside :a great
auction.  They dug Jim Kuehl out of the home
and he did an incredible job! Folks were buying
items and donating them back to sell again.
Everything was donated to the auction for
Tyler and his family.
Everybody was there, including our friends
Betty Lee and Duke.  That's Duke with the
cookies and crumb cakes.  Betty's hidden
behind the boxes.
Cool truck across the street, reminding
us the racing gets underway Friday
night at Red Cedar.  Oh boy oh boy.
One more fond look back up the street toward the
Legion, as we were heading out.  The benefit
was still going on.  Once again, we are reminded
this IS the Heartland of America, and we take
care of our own.  What an incredible day!  We
are so proud and humbled to be a part of this
community we call "Moose Country."  May God
Bless us all.
Oh, one last thing.  Another
benefit next weekend (maybe
two if we can work out the
timing); watch the website and
listen to the show for details.
